Hi! I’m Martha, the designer and creator of POP Needle Arts.

My designs are intended to be whimsical yet thoughtful, quirky yet chic.

I am inspired by pop culture, 90s and early 2000s nostalgia, women in history, flowers, and animals.

Thank you for checking out my shop and my designs!

What got me into stitching?

I’ve been doing needlework since 2006, starting first with cross stitch and hand embroidery.

Like many stitchers, I learned from my mom who has been stitching for decades.

Heirloom pieces decorate our home and continue to mean so much to our family.

How did I become a designer?

I started designing needlepoint in 2019 at the dining room table of my home outside of Dallas, TX. It was the height of COVID, and I was home from my career as a home health occupational therapist as the world figured out how to move forward.

Looking for a way to express myself and distract myself from being bored at home, I got back into needlework. What started out as a creative outlet developed into something more over time as I saw that there was a demand for my designs.

This is truly my dream job and I can’t believe I get to sell my artwork for a living.

Why “POP Needle Arts”?

When it came time to name my company, I thoughtfully chose the name “POP Needle Arts”.

I believe that needlework is more than just a hobby, and I didn’t want limitations on what I could share with customers.

And needlepoint is art, after all!

Why is this my dream job?

The best part of being a needlepoint designer is the collaborative aspect and unlimited opportunities for creativity for the stitcher.

The creative aspect never stops: from design, to threads, to stitches, to finishing.

It’s a multilayered process that allows each stitcher to express themselves and create their vision using the canvas.

Nothing makes me more proud than to see people stitch my pieces!

Thank you for shopping and stitching with me.
